Yoinsuk & Tigwan Western syle accommodation in the major centres is generally very expensive so budget travellers usually head for the traditional Korean inns known as youinsuk or yogwan. The more upmarket yogwan are called jan yogwan. Yogwan usually have at least some rooms with private bath, while yoinsuk almost never do. Prices in yogwan start at around W15,000, but W20,000 or more is typical in jang yogwan. Probably the easiest way to save money on accommodation is to double up. Doubles and sinles are usually the same price, though a third person might be chargede extra. Yoinsuk and yougwan are usually clustered around bus and railway stations. If you can't read Korean, at least learn the symbol for bath, which is as --- You'll find this symbol on the signs of all jang yogwan and it indicates that all rooms have a private bath. But be forewarned; the same symbol is used on public bath houses (mokyoktang). lp. *useful phrase May I see the room ? Pangol polsu issoyo ?
